My favorite email tool is ConvertKit. It's an email marketing tool tailored for content creators and bloggers. What I love about ConvertKit is how it makes email fun. You can create an unlimited number of automation workflow to put your email marketing to autopilot. You can also tag subscribers in your workflow to understand what they want to receive from you. For example, if you link to an SEO post on your email and subscribers click on it, the tool will assign those subscribers with a tag. Therefore, if you have another SEO article to promote, you can share it to them instead of sharing them to all your subscribers. This kills two birds with one stone - you send emails to people are interested in reading and you keep

Choosing an email solution is a major decision. If you need to keep the price down and aren’t ready for a marketing system yet, you can use @Mailchimp (free up to 1000 subscribers – but no affiliate marketing links are permitted). If you know you eventually want to use a marketing system, look at @GetResponse @HubSpot @Infusionsoft and @Zoho Campaigns. While it is best to choose the email solution you want to use long-term (because moving to some platforms will cost you subscribers if they require repeating a double opt-in process), it is more important to just get started. #smallbiz

Email marketing tools: Why you need to get one chosen and start using it right away!

Small businesses should make a list of what they need or research potential solutions. G2Crowd offers reviews of individual email marketing solutions plus many comparisons. Use them to compare the pros and cons of various solutions.

For #smallbiz, a good transition is GetResponse email to GetResponse marketing system starting at $49/month because it can automatically segment lists and allow you to build workflows for lead scoring.

If you’re ready for an integrated, powerful marketing system, consider HubSpot or Infusionsoft. There will be a major learning curve, so plan to dedicate a significant amount of someone’s time to set it up, learn it, and teach the rest of your team.

Email solutions often integrate with marketing and also with a CRM. Although you can source these separately, if you’re serious about lead generation, you will need all three to talk to each other. You also need to have sales actively follow-up on leads you generate and not rely on just email and autoresponders.

When you know you are ready for an integration of email, marketing, and CRM, another solution to consider is Zoho Campaigns or their entire Zoho One suite of 40+ apps including email at less than $35/month per team member.

Be aware that all email marketing solutions and most CRMs charge on a sliding scale based on the number of subscribers. Include increasing costs due to growth in your budget.
