Tips to keep your eyes healthy
Keep a safe distance from electronic devices: At home, while watching T.V, maintain a maximum distance from it. At work, make sure that your computer screen is at an arm’s distance from your eyes. Also try to avoid glare on your computer screens from windows and lights. For this, use anti-glare glasses. Every 20 minutes look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Eat healthy food: Nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, vitamin C etc are good for eyes. Hence consume green leafy vegetables, salmon, tuna, eggs, nuts, oranges etc.

Wear sunglasses while you step out in sun: Prolonged exposure to sunrays causes cataracts and macular degeneration. Hence, choose good quality sunglasses that block 99% to 100% of UVA and UVB rays to protect your eyes.
Maintain proper hygiene: Do not touch your eyes frequently. If you have to rub them, wash your hands properly before doing so. Also people wearing contact lenses should follow the hygiene instructions to avoid allergies and infections in eyes.
Get adequate sleep: Eyes require adequate amount of rest to be in good health. Inadequate sleep can lead to puffy, red and tired eyes.
Keep a check on your cosmetics: Make up products can have germs that can cause damage to your eyes. Hence toss old makeup products and don’t use dried up mascara.
Go for regular eye check-up: Last but not the least, visit your doctor for eye check-ups once in six months. This will help in the early discovery of diseases like myopia, cataract etc.
